About Course

The course aims to cover Advanced Vibration Analysis – Theory of mechanical vibration and its applications using Finite Element Methods with hands on sessions and industrial case studies.

Description of the Course :
The course covers advanced vibrations analysis and its applications. Study of advanced vibrations is important to mechanical, aeronautical and civil engineers. It is necessary for a design engineer to have a sound knowledge of vibrations. The emphasis is on the application of theoretical knowledge to actual industry situations. This course is planned or meant for engineering graduate students / teachers / technical staff / design /practicing engineers who have already undergone the foundation course on mechanical vibration and wish to enhance their knowledge to adopt the advanced method of solving industrial applications problems. The main aim of the course is to prepare the participants to tackle complex and frontier technological advanced problems in vibrations. Thus, participants will gain theoretical knowledge of advanced vibration and its practical applications with the ability to solve any type of vibration problems using finite element analysis software.

What Will You Learn?

  • Understand theoretical principles of advanced vibration and the knowledge of analysing transient, nonlinear and random vibration for the practical problems.
  • Understand the importance of advanced vibration theory in the design of parts/component subjected to transient, nonlinear and random loads.
  • Application of finite element methods to solve advanced vibration problems
  • Knowledge of finite element analysis procedure to solve advanced vibration problems frequently encountered in industries.
  • Ability to identify and rectify the errors while solving dynamics problems
  • Knowledge to extract the frequencies and mode shapes and interpret the results from finite element analysis.
