Metal cutting and forming is a section of manufacturing process which is classified under metal removal and non-removal methods to attain the desire shape and size of the product/components from the raw material. In a metal removal process various method of machining process are adopted using different cutting and machine tools. Hence knowledge pertaining to relative motion, mechanism required and effect of various parameters on machining the product/components from various cutting and machine tools are important for efficient machining operations. Most common method of metal non-removal process is by mechanical working of metals to attain the desired size and shape is called as metal forming process. Metal forming is classified in different ways depending upon the type of product/component. Metal behaviour during the mechanical working and the tools required to produce the required shape and size is an important task of a tool designer. Thus, engineers involved in manufacturing sectors must acquire the basic knowledge of metal cutting and metal working process by undergoing this course.
