Non-traditional machining can be thought of as operations that do not use shear as their primary source of energy.Non-traditional manufacturing processes is defined as a group of processes that remove excess material by various techniques involving mechanical, thermal, electrical or chemical energy or combinations of these energies but do not use a sharp cutting tools as it needs to be used for traditional manufacturing processes.Non-traditional machining processes can be classified according to the source of energy used to generate such a machining action: mechanical, thermal, chemical and electrochemical.Industrial requirements that lead to the development of non-traditional machining depends on hardness, strength,flexible or slender to support the cutting or grinding forces and complex shape of the part that needs to be machines.
