About Course

Automation means using computer software, machines or other technology to carry out a task which would otherwise be done by a human worker and Robotics is a branch of engineering which incorporates multiple disciplines to design, build, program and use robotic machines to perform specified tasks. Automation and robotics is an specialised engineering branch that provides in-depth knowledge in the areas concerning electro-mechanics, robotic sensors, automatic system and artificial intelligence. Automation and robotics bring in necessary information technology that is designed to control the work of machines and agility to testing which helps to respond faster and more effectively to the changes so that they can focus more on testing and provide corrective action for better performance.

What Will You Learn?

  • Identify the potential areas for automation and justify need for automation hardware for the given application.
  • Translate and simulate a real time activity using modern tools and discuss the benefits of automation.
  • Decide suitable control components required to automate a process or an activity.
  • Recommend appropriate modelling and simulation tool for the given manufacturing process.
  • Explain the basic principles of robotic technology, configurations, control and Programming of robots.
  • Select a robot based on the requirement to perform specific tasks.
